  • When any wicked man glares at me for taking revenge (or for injuring me), what man, O Mazda, shall grant protection unto me and unto my followers? (Who other than Thee!) Shall grant protection to the Fire and the Mind (i.e. household happiness and the peace of mind)? Through the action of which two, O Hormazd, righteousness increases. Do Thou declare the knowledge of the religion to me? (O Hormazd!). O Hormazd and Spenta Ārmatish! protect us from the evildoers, (from here) Protect us, O devils’ chithrō! Druj, priest’s enemies’ spawn! Defilement’s seed! Thou of devilish sign, of deceitful inheritance, Destruction! who art of lying tribe! utterly vanish! Be not visible to the world! O Druj! Do not approach us! Be not of right (nature) Do not grow! let it be destroyed. Homage (be unto) both right thought and prosperity! Who (shall be) the smiter of the foe? by the help of Thy (Avestan) words which (by reciting at the time of calamity) are protecting? Do Thou reveal clearly unto me a wise leader for both the worlds (O Hormazd). Let Sraoshā (Yazata) approach with Good Mind (or through Vohu Manah) to any one whom Thou doest love.

Explanation: O Hormazd! When wicked persons torment me and my followers, who is our protector from such a torment? There is no other than Thee, who will grant family happiness and peace of mind. These possessions of body and mind in healthy condition increases righteousness. There is no other who increases righteousness. O Hormazd! Do thou evoke, give rise to such a thought in my mind so that I may get courage and strength in executing any work.
